Asked
Questions
Can I bring food or have a picnic?
Yes, bring folding lawn chairs, picnic blanket, water, food, family and friends. Please protect our lovely park by picking up and taking home all the trash you bring.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes! Good mannered pups are allowed. Just realize others may bring their dogs too. Please keep them with you and on a leash at all times.
What happens if it rains?
The concert will be postponed to the next evening (Thursday), if the band is available. If not, the show will be rescheduled to the end of the series: Wednesday, August 28 at 6pm. Check this website and Facebook for day-of weather cancellation info.
Are there food trucks?
Sorry, no. Due to additional permitting, electricity, trash, and generator noise, food trucks are not expected to be there.
About us
The Western Prom Sunset Concerts (WPSC) is a non-profit organization that presents a free, public concert series featuring a diversity of musical styles each Wednesday evening during the months of July and August at Portland’s historic Western Promenade Park.
The Western Prom Sunset Concerts began in 2021 and attracts nearly 300 audience members from the neighborhood and beyond who gather with lawn chairs, children, dogs and picnic dinners to enjoy these free, informal concerts as the sun sets over the White Mountains. The series presents a wide range of musical groups including folk, rock, jazz, brass, country, African, and more. In 2024, WPSC established itself as an independent non-profit and received its 501C3 status. The series is supported by a devoted group of neighborhood donors and volunteers. Please donate to help us keep these concerts free each year.
